Social History of Chile is a subject that covers the entire history of the country from the colony to the end of the 20th century, from the social perspective, that is, the history from the popular sectors. I really enjoy this subject, because it is a new bet to analyze the history of Chile, since at school we are always taught this history from the point of view of the elites, but not from the other side. Mary Richmond Mary Richmond was a noted social worker, born in 1861 in the United States. She was raised by her grandmother, a feminist activist, which guided her to form a critical and thinking attitude about the demands in front of the world. She is considered as the woman who established Social Work as a profession, since she implemented theories, techniques, etc. that turned the notion of Social Work as solely charitable work, through, for example, home visits and philanthropy, into a profession that seeks the emancipation of people.
